Michigan Freedom Fund Recognizes State Senator Aric Nesbitt as January “Freedom Fighter of the Month”

LANSING, MI, February 10, 2020 – The Michigan Freedom Fund today recognized state Senator Aric Nesbitt as the January “Freedom Fighter of the Month” in recognition of his efforts to oppose “Labor Peace Agreements” at the Marijuana Regulatory Agency within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.

“State Senator Aric Nesbitt has been leading the fight against this mob-style shakedown,” said Michigan Freedom Fund Executive Director Tony Daunt. “These so-called ‘labor peace agreements’ are nothing more than a union protection racket and an assault on Michigan job creators. We applaud Sen. Nesbitt and legislative Republicans for standing up for small business owners against these special interests.”

In January, both chambers of the State Legislature approved SCR 18, a resolution sponsored by Sen. Nesbitt calling on the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Department to stand down and end attempts to implement “labor peace agreements” through the Marijuana Regulatory Agency.

The “Freedom Fighter of the Month” is an award created by the Freedom Fund to recognize those individuals who are diligently working to defend taxpayers and protect our Constitutional freedoms.
