Michigan State House Votes to Bring Transparency and Accountability to State Government

LANSING, MI, March 19, 2019 – Michigan Freedom Fund Executive Director Tony Daunt today applauded members of the state legislature who voted to reform Michigan’s Freedom of Information Act. The package of bills would subject the governor’s office and the legislature to open records requests.

“Michigan taxpayers deserve to see what their government is doing. With the transparency reform passed by the state House today, Michigan’s legislature is finally on a path towards openness and accountability. We encourage members of the state Senate to move quickly on this legislation and vote for increased transparency as soon as possible.”
