Whitmer, The Anti-Scientist

Who had ‘Gretchen Whitmer tells Michiganians to ignore science’ on their 2020 bingo card?

Maybe we all should have. It’s happened before.

Bullying? That’s pure bull!

Just who’s bullying whom, Madame Governor?

Michigan workers have been forced off-the-job by Governor Whitmer for nearly six months. Small business owners and their customers who can interact safely have been forced out of business by the Governor; jobs lost, savings depleted, while the state's mental health crisis explodes, and young people contemplate suicide in heart-wrenching and record numbers.

Freedom Alert: Living Rent-Free in the Minds of Liberals Everywhere

To the radical Left, we are the boogeyman in the closet. The monster under their bed. We are the thing that goes bump in the night. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

In April, thousands of you turned out to safely protest Gov. Whitmer’s stay-at-home order and her economic shutdown that shuttered your livelihoods. We spent a mere $250 on a Facebook ad to boost the “Operation Gridlock” event, planned and organized by the Michigan Conservative Coalition.

That’s it.

Fear and Loathing in Lansing

It’s been almost six months since Gov. Whitmer first enacted the state of emergency in Michigan, suspending the rule of law, and radically transforming daily life in our state.

Since then, she’s repeatedly moved the goal posts, refused to acknowledge what magical metric we must hit to fully reopen our state, and bitterly refused to give up her emergency powers or work with the Legislature.

Reason beats fear in Michigan's fight against COVID-19

This column originally appeared in the Detroit News.

Fear is a powerful driver. It’s part of our biology, our brain chemistry, hardwired inside us to keep us safe. But it’s a poor way to manage a crisis.

We see fear’s effect on our local communities, and it’s devastating.

Schools are closed while union bosses fight to lock the doors “until it’s safe to return.”  Our kids pay the price academically, socially, emotionally, physically.

Nothing to hide?

The more we learn about Gretchen Whitmer’s no-bid contract sending tax dollars to her political consultants to access private patient health data, the more corruption we uncover.

Now, following an investigation by the Office of the Auditor General (OAG), one of Whitmer’s highest ranking political staffers has lawyered up and refused to cooperate with investigators.

Abuse, Hide and Ignore.

Hiding from the media seems to be a hallmark of Leftist “leaders” these days. And while Gov. Gretchen Whitmer isn’t hiding in her basement, she’s doing the next best thing.

Last Wednesday, she used her unilateral authority to restrict the press from her in-person press briefing. Then, she cherry-picked the questions she wanted to answer from those reporters on Zoom.

Don’t Forget to Vote!

Another day, another set of draconian, job-killing, liberty-stealing lockdowns from Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Late Wednesday she issued another confusing executive order, closing bars and dramatically restricting social gatherings in rural northern Michigan – while telling the casinos in Detroit they’re allowed to re-open.

You can’t make this stuff up – but she seems to be.

Feeding Whistleblowers to the Wolves

Are Democrats in the state legislature worried about whistleblowers?

That’s the only conclusion one can draw after legislative Democrats this week refused to back a bipartisan proposal to institute legal protections for government whistleblowers following a series of anti-transparency vetoes from Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Defund the Police?!

To defund the police or not to defund the police. That is the question voters should be asking candidates running for State House this fall.

Make no mistake – there is a real movement among radical Left activists and politicians to take police off the streets, and away from our neighborhoods and communities. No amount of carnage, rising crime rates, or chaos are enough to convince them police are worth having on the beat.
