After Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s heavy-handed COVID restrictions that lead to fines and penalties, she apparently tried a little lighter. Literally. An official in Whitmer’s administration admitted to burning documents relating to enforcement of her coronavirus restrictions.

We’re on the Frontlines, holding Whitmer accountable, and she’s not happy about it. Thanks for standing with us in this fight for Freedom. Here is what you need to know for this week:

INTEGRITY, TRANSPARENCY GO UP IN SMOKE

Gretchen Whitmer spent the better part of 2020 issuing unconstitutional lockdown orders, then deployed government agents to fine, penalize, and publicly shame individuals, small businesses, and communities who defied her edicts.

The Detroit News uncovered a brazen cover-up attempt when reporting on a legal battle between the Whitmer administration and the city of Port Huron. A key Whitmer enforcement official admitted on the record that he couldn’t produce files and records related to Whitmer’s COVID orders – because he literally set them on fire.

It begs the question, what else has the Whitmer administration burned – besides trust? Every Michigander deserves a full accounting of what was in those files – and everything else Whitmer’s team is trying to keep secret.

GAS PRICES ARE A LAUGHING MATTER FOR BIDEN ADMINISTRATION

Gas prices are rising, and Biden Energy Secretary (and former Michigan governor) Jennifer Granholm thinks it’s hilarious.

While Michigan families are struggling to keep up with inflation in the Biden-Whitmer economy, Governor Whitmer is trying to drive those energy costs even higher. Her attempts to shut down Line 5 and implement a 45 cent per gallon gas tax will send energy prices soaring, jeopardizing those families’ ability to put gas in their cars or heat their homes this winter.

REDISTRICTING COMMISSION “REINTERPRETS” THE CONSTITUTION

Michigan’s Redistricting Commission continues to make headlines for all the wrong reasons. They “reinterpreted” the constitutional amendment that governs the commission’s actions, limiting when commissioners can submit maps.

Now, their legal counsel wants to hold ANOTHER unconstitutional closed-door session to discuss the matter. The Constitution requires that the Commission conduct all its business in open meetings.

WHITMER ATTACKS MICHIGAN FREEDOM FUND

Governor Whitmer doesn’t like being held accountable for her hypocrisies and many policy failures. Now she’s taking out her frustrations on the Michigan Freedom Fund.

Michigan is on the wrong track, but instead of working to rebuild the economy and empower parents and students, Governor Whitmer is busy playing politics.
