A little over two hundred and forty-two years ago, our Forefathers put pen to paper to declare our nation’s Independence from an oppressive and tyrannical government.
To lay the groundwork for that Declaration, Thomas Jefferson defined some “self-evident” truths:
“...that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Jefferson goes on to write, “That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” These truths are at the core of the Michigan Freedom Fund and our mission. Our Freedoms are not derived from government.
Unfortunately, there are some today who believe that government is the source of these liberties, rather than its protector.
This is why we exist.
This is why we fight.
Protecting our individual rights, limiting government, and protecting families’ wallets from high taxes and out of control spending. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
